Application information
- Applicants must open an NTD and foreign currency account with E.SUN, and apply for automatic bill payments through their foreign currency account.Applicants who have applied for a digital account must apply after their digital NTD or foreign currency account applications have been reviewed and approved.
- Automatic bill payments made through foreign currency accounts must designate the“automatic purchase and payment of foreign exchange in NTD”option.When the balance of the foreign currency account is insufficient and the automatic debit payment fails, the balance in the NTD account will be converted to the designated foreign currency at the exchange rate on the date of the failed debit payment and deposited into the designated foreign currency account, where the amount is debited to pay off the foreign currency payable.
- Cardholders are welcome to purchase foreign currency through Internet Banking, and have their foreign currency account automatically debited on the payment due date of their credit card bill for foreign purchases made. Doing so is convenient, and cardholders can also enjoy Internet Banking exchange rate discount offers!

- All foreign purchases made with the JPY Dual-Currency Card (including purchases at stores whose acquiring banks are foreign banks) are paid in JPY.
- Foreign currency credit card bills can only be paid via an automatic debit from an E.SUN foreign currency account.
- When you use E.SUN Wallet electronic payments on PayPay’s merchant, the transactions will be debited in New Taiwan Dollars (NTD). This also applies to using E.SUN dual-currency cards (Looking Left, Very friendly Version). The transaction amount will converted into NTD at exchange rate displayed in the E.SUN Wallet app at the time of the transaction. The refund exchange rate will be the same as the exchange rate at the time of the original payment, and the funds will be refunded to your original credit card.
- Purchases made with the E.SUN Kumamon Dual-Currency Card at foreign countries or stores whose acquiring banks are foreign banks are paid in JPY. Please note that although some online stores may be displayed in traditional Chinese, its acquiring institution may be a foreign bank. When you make a purchase with the E.SUN Kumamon Dual-Currency Card, the transaction amount will be converted into JPY for settlement, regardless of whether the transaction amount is shown in NTD or another foreign currency on the website.
- Foreign purchases refer to transactions with special stores registered in a foreign country, or transactions for which a "foreign transaction service fee” is charged, including foreign physical stores or foreign shopping websites, but excluding investment transaction and exchange platforms (such as eToro, MCO, Wise, crypto.com, OANDA Australia, Binance Currency, etc.) and traveler's checks.
- All foreign purchases are paid for in the designated foreign currency, regardless of whether the transaction currency is NTD or another foreign currency.
- Common foreign special stores: (1) Online shopping platforms: Amazon, Taobao, Rakuten, ZALORA, iHerb, ASOS, shopbop, etc.
(2) Hotel booking websites: Agoda, Hotels.com, Booking.com, Trip.com, Expedia, etc.
(3) Online entertainment: Netflix, Disney+, Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, Nintendo, etc.
(4) Travel: Scoot, Peach Aviation, Jetstar Airways, etc. (An airline’s official website may display different currency conversions based on the place of departure)
