Announcement of Changes to Non-Name Registered EasyCard Rights and Benefits

2022/09/12

Dear Customers:

Thank you for your support and use of E.SUN Bank credit cards. In compliance with amendments to the Rules Governing the Administration of Electronic Payment Business, if the holder of a Non-Name Registered EasyCard (Note 1) has not completed registering for a named EasyCard, should their original card expire (Note 2), become damaged, lost, or otherwise needs to be replaced, the Bank shall no longer issue a replacement card of the same type with electronic stored-value functions. Another credit card type without electronic stored-value functions shall be issued instead (see Table 1 for more details). If the cardholder already holds the card type designated as the replacement card, no replacement card shall be issued. In order to protect your interests, please apply for EasyCard name registration as quickly as possible.

If the cardholder does not agree to register for an EasyCard or be issued a replacement card, please submit a request through the website link provided inTable 1 to not issue a replacement card before July 31, 2022. If no request is received before this deadline, the cardholder will be deemed as having agreed to be issued a replacement card. Please be reminded that the original card will be automatically canceled once a new card is issued. The rights and benefits offered by the new replacement card may differ from those of your original card. Please refer to the E.SUN official website for more details on the rights and benefits of each card.

In order to ensure that you continue to be able to enjoy the various benefits and rights available to you as an E.SUN Bank credit cardholder, if you are currently using the credit card to make insurance premium payments or other regular automatic payments (such as: payments for telephone fees, donations, cable television etc.), please remember to change the credit card details you have provided for these payments.

Note 1: Refers to non-name registered EasyCard Co-Branded Cards approved and issued before April 1, 2012 that the Bank has not previously agreed to convert into a name-registered EasyCard Co-Branded Card.
Note 2: You are required to convert your card into a name-registered EasyCard Co-Branded Card at least 60 days before your original card expires, otherwise the Bank will not replace your original card with one that also possesses electronic stored-value functions.

Sincerely, E.SUN Bank

Attention:

  1. After the primary cardholder registers to not replace their expired card, all primary and supplementary cards will be canceled, or not replaced upon expiry.
  2. EasyCard balance refund: The electronic stored-value balance of an expired EasyCard shall be transferred into the cardholder’s credit card account within 45 business days of the card expiry date. These transferred funds can be used to offset credit card purchases. You may also visit an EasyCard customer service center with your card and personal ID documents to return your card, where your EasyCard balance will be returned in the form of cash.
  3. You may use the e-Click Online Card Application service on the E.SUN official website to apply for other credit cards offered by the Bank.
  4. Changes to credit card annual fees: Annual fees for your replacement card will be waived for the first year after converting to the new card type. From the second year onwards, credit card annual fees shall be the same as those for your original card. These fees shall also be waived as long as you continue to make purchases with the card each year.
  5. Please refer to the E.SUN official website for the most up to date information on the rights and benefits offered by your replacement card.
  6. The Doctor Signature Card, Hsin Tung Yang Co-Branded Card, ATT4FUN Co-Branded Card, and other name-registered cards will be replaced following the procedures announced in the original card replacement announcement.
