Important Information on Fraud Prevention of E.SUN Bank

2023/08/30
Dear Customers:

Recently, there have been many reported fraudulent cases. The common scammer methods are as follows:
  • Falsifying caller’s numbers
Fraudulent groups falsify E.SUN’s telephone numbers of each service location with "+" and "+886" at the beginning of the phone number to conduct loan marketing that misleads customers. Or they use specific events (e.g., installment payments, online repeated orders, etc.) to attract customers' attention, and teach them Internet banking or ATM operations on behalf of a financial institution. Please be aware of not to disclose or check your personal information online or listen to the instructions of unknown callers.
  • Phishing SMS sent in the name of a bank
Fraudulent groups pretend themselves to be financial institutions and send SMS messages claiming that there is an abnormality in the account or that the Internet banking update has failed. The contents of such SMS messages include links that mislead customers to click on the links and steal their personal information or account passwords.
  • Fraudulent loan marketing on behalf of E.SUN
Recently, fraudulent groups have been pretending to be E.SUN for loan marketing, misleading customers to make loans applications and requesting for payments of handling fees in advance. During the call, there are often cases of abusive words and hang-ups. Please be careful and do not trust these scammer methods. In addition, personnel of E.SUN have received complete telephone marketing education and training. When marketing, they also indicate representing units and identity information. If you receive any suspicious calls, please contact E.SUN for confirmation.
  • Send an SMS professing bill payment or advertising too-good-to-be-true offers to trick cardholders out of credit card details
Scam gangs, by sending an SMS demanding tax payment or bill payment or advertising too-good-to-be-true offers, entice a mobile phone user who is also a cardholder into clicking on the link in the SMS and entering credit card information in the prompted page, where the credit card information is then intercepted and used for various types of transactions or added to the scam gangs’ mobile payment account and used to make a card purchase. Please verify the authenticity of a marketing event and do not provide credit card information or OTP without due care, lest you are scammed
